It was a gorgeous day yesterday for the Taste of Buffalo food festival, sunny but not too hot. At noon the streets were nearly packed with people sampling some of the many foods offered by local restaurants.
Even though I was not needed at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Beer Tent (they had enough volunteers) I enjoyed taking in the festivals and taking my first ride ever on the Metro Rail (fun, easy and much cheaper than parking downtown!) which I plan to take more often.
In case you are interested, here are the winners from the 2010 Taste of Buffalo from WGRZ TV 2.
Readers at Buffalo Rising not only debate whether Dinosaur BBQ should have eligible for winning “Best Meat Item” but also argued whether they should have been part of the festival at all, seeing at their closest location is Rochester. What do you think?
Buffalo Rising Editor Christa Glennie Seychew who was one of the festival’s judges thinks that Dino BBQ should open a location somewhere downtown. Some commenters said the Dino BBQ location should be part of the new Canal Side. Imagine if Canal Side, became a “Best of Buffalo” food destination? Charlie the Butcher, Anchor Bar or Duff’s, or maybe both, why not? What other restaurants would you add to this imaginary list?
