Williamsville Networking Group for unemployed WNYers

Are you an unemployed Western New Yorker? Are you frustrated, wondering what you are doing wrong and looking for help? Or maybe you just want to share your experiences with others in the same situation? Then consider joining the Williamsville Networking Group from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. the first three Thursdays of the month at the New York State Department of Labor Office at 4175 Transit Road in Williamsville.

The networking group is made up of fellow job seekers from all ages and career backgrounds. It’s free to join and there are no membership dues or fees. The group is run by two employees of the N.Y. State Department of Labor’s Rapid Response Unit. All new members are asked to make a brief introduction to the group: name, education/background, career field, past job experience, what sort of job are you looking for now, and is also welcome to share his or her insights into the job seeking process.

The group also invites guest speakers on occasion and on Thursday, July 29th, John Slenker, Associate Economist for the Department of Labor, will discuss labor market trends in the Western New York region.
