Affiliate marketing strategies were swapped, barbecue w
as eaten and the value of answering questions on Linkedin, Yahoo and Facebook was discussed at the first meeting of the WNY Internet Marketers Group on Saturday in Batavia.
The event was organized Eric Nagel via Facebook at the Center Street Smokehouse in Batavia. Nagel said that Batavia served as a good half-way point between Rochester and Buffalo and he hoped to attract people from both cities.
Nagel said he formed the group and event after attending a ShareASale.com affiliate meet-up in the WNY area. Recently Nagel attended another ShareASale “Think Tank” in Half Moon Bay, Cali. You can read more about his thoughts on the event at his website.
I have never been to Batavia before and I really enjoyed my first visit. I loved that the downtown area was still intact and lined with small businesses. Before I stopped at the Center Street Smokehouse, I stopped at Oliver’s, a local candy-making and ice cream-serving business. Check out that sign! Crunchy eyeballs are always an enticement.
I also took a few photos of the inside of the Center Street Smokehouse when I first arrive and right before I left around 7:30 p.m. It looks like it’s a popular place to not only get good barbecue, but to hang out with a pint in your hand. Everyone in the Internet marketing group tried something different on the menu and greatly enjoyed it, so five thumbs up!
Nagle said he hopes to have more meet-ups in the future. To find out more information, join the WNY Internet Marketers Facebook group.
