Attention all public relations and communication professionals in the Western New York area, the 2011 Northeast District Conference for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) will be held in Rochester, N.Y. on September 28.
The conference will be at the RIT Inn and Conference Center. The theme of this year’s conference will be “Communicating Without Walls: How PR is influencing the digital landscape” and will feature a morning keynote presentation from Mike Fernandez, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Cargill, and a lunch keynote from Rosanna Fiske, APR, CEO and Chair of PRSA.
The conference will also offer 20 breakout sessions lead by PR professionals from around the country and some from the WNY area, such as Deborah Silverman, Associate Professor and Associate Chair of the Department of Communications at Buffalo State College and Karen Olsen, Assistant Professor of Communication at the College at Brockport.
Not surprisingly, many of the topics will focus on the use of social media. Some of the topics include crisis communications, best practices for social media, video marketing, creating compelling content and social media and politics.
